What time does our home inspection start?

Most home inspections start at 9am, but I am happy to work around my client’s schedules.

How long will our home inspection take?

Most inspections take 3-4 hours to complete, with additional time finalizing the report back at our office

When will I receive the report?

Reports are available within 24-48 hours of the inspection.  We will send you a secure link to the report via email and you will have the option to download and/or print a PDF version of either the SUMMARY Page or the FULL REPORT.

Should I be present during the inspection?

Yes! When possible, clients are encouraged to meet with me towards the end of the inspection so that we may review my findings in person, and discuss any questions that you may have.

What is a Radon?

Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the natural decay of Uranium, which is found in almost all soil.

Do We Have Radon in Virginia?

Yes. Per the EPA’s Radon Zone Map, Central Virginia falls under both Zone 1 & Zone 2, which represents a higher risk for indoor radon levels. VA Radon Map

Is Radon harmful?

Yes. Radon gas is the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer behind cigarette smoking. It’s attributed to 21,000 deaths per year in the US alone.

What If my home has high radon levels?

Not to worry. Mitigation systems cost $1200 on average and are extremely effective at lowering radon levels inside the home.

Do I need to evacuate immediately?
